Production Control Specialist

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
Essential
Expedite processes for cleaning, heat treating, warehousing and shipping castings as well as any other special casting handling requirements to ensure delivery commitments are met.
Edit, analyze, and interpret incoming orders from customers, sales representatives, plants or electronic data interchange (EDI) to determine if new order or a change to existing order. Determine castings in transit and remove from customer requirements.
Verify price on customer’s PO by printing, matching cost estimate requests. or pulling salesperson’s letter, as necessary. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of order updates, customer releases, purchase order changes, past due lists, and on-time shipping reports as well as other reports as may be necessary.
Assign priorities to orders to enable the override of normal processing procedures to ensure priority castings are shipped on time to meet customer requirements.  Perform timely and accurate entry of accrual data for company paid outbound freight and returns.  Acquire proof of delivery and update shipping instructions as required.
Maintain close communications with customers and the sales department on matters relating to order status, casting inventories, and shipping schedules. 
Maintain communications with outside vendors to ensure timely processing and delivery of orders.  Control inventories and shipments and verify accuracy of invoices, including pricing between vendors and customers. 
Communicate and verify disposition of obsolete pattern tooling with Foundry Engineering to assure proper action is taken.
Maintain customer casting inventory records and release castings against purchase orders as requested.
Perform contract review.  Verify incoming orders contain correct engineering revision level, current pre-production approval process (PPAP) requirements and correct routing and product services instructions.

Additional  
Answer incoming telephone calls and direct to proper individual.  Operate paging system to page employees as necessary.
