As a Medical Billing Specialist at OnePeak Medical, you will play a key role in reviewing and analyzing patient claims data from our Practice Management software and EMR while working with insurance health plans and OnePeak’s patients to resolve unprocessed accounts receivable. The Medical Billing Specialist role will require you to perform various tasks, including, but not limited to, the duties listed below. In this position, you will work collaboratively with all internal and external staff to support patient care, exhibiting flexibility and a can-do attitude. We are a wellness-oriented office, so educating yourself about our products and services is VERY important! All staff must take time to learn about our approach to wellness and how it impacts our patients’ lives so they can speak confidently and passionately to patients about OnePeak!

DUTIES:

  • Efficiently process denied charges while identifying insurance health plan trends
  • Effectively process appeals to insurance health plans
  • Research and resolve issues causing claims to be unprocessed by insurance health plans
  • Resolve claims filing errors within OnePeak’s claims clearinghouse
  • Work collaboratively with the Coding team to advise of claims denials related to CPT or ICD-10 coding
  • Handle patient phone calls for statement or payment processing and answer billing related questions
  • Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolutions skills when handling patient complaints; refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed
  • Inform providers and staff of changes in insurance policies
  • Attend schedule departmental staff and clinical meetings
  • Perform all duties and service in full compliance with OnePeak Medical Clinics Employee Handbook
  • Flexibility to attend out of town training for positions
  • Additional responsibilities, as needed by, and in support of OnePeak Medical
