Compliance Analyst – DaVita – DeLand, FL

This position supports the Senior Manager of Compliance over DaVita Labs. The Analyst will apply previously acquired project management, analytical, auditing, and communication skills to assist in coordinating and monitoring existing and new Compliance activities to ensure that procedures and policies comply with federal and state rules and regulations, company policies and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.

  • Become familiar with healthcare Fraud Waste and Abuse (FWA) laws, regulations, policies and procedures with an emphasis on the False Claims Act (FCA).

  • Interpret and apply understanding of complex regulations in order to identify potential gaps or process improvements in current controls.

  • Assist in developing auditing and monitoring activities focused on key risk areas.

  • Conduct auditing and monitoring to assess the accuracy of claims submitted to Medicare, Medicaid, and other payors (assess compliance risks, establish and/or perform monitoring work steps, document findings, and make recommendations to resolve compliance findings requiring corrective action).

  • Develop written reports with monitoring results and present findings to multiple operational stakeholders, legal, and compliance.

  • Track progress of corrective action as a result of monitoring findings.

  • Assist Compliance leadership in assignments related to the Compliance Audit & Monitoring Program

  • Perform assessments of policies, processes, systems, and issues.

  • Assist in a variety of recurring and non-recurring processes and projects related to compliance and village-wide initiatives.

  • Build, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with compliance, legal, and business partners.

  • Lead or participate in various compliance education and engagement initiatives.

  • Manage time effectively and regularly meet expected deadlines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required.

  • This is a remote position.

  • Travel required: Once a year, with additional travel possible depending on individual preferences and business needs

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2 years’ experience as an audit or compliance professional preferred.

  • Healthcare industry experience dealing with federal healthcare program laws including, but not limited to Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act and Civil Monetary Penalty preferred.

  • Experience analyzing data with high attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Preferred experience working with Medicare regulations, healthcare billing or coding and respective electronic health record and billing IT systems;

  • Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

  • Ability to deal with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment.

  • Must be self-motivated, team player with proven ability to identify issues and manage priorities in a fast paced environment while striving for practical business solutions; and

  • Hands on, efficient and proven ability to “Get Stuff Done” with a bias for action and a strong sense of ownership.
