We are looking for a qualified medical assistant willing to work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at our Newberry office assisting the Dermatologist. This position is part-time. Full-time employment may be a possibility in the future. The primary role of our medical assistants is to provide above average care to our dermatology patients. Daily you will serve as a patient advocate during exams & treatment. This job requires you to interview patients in order to obtain & validate medical information. You will assist the provider with preparing and administering medications and treatments as directed, take detailed notes in EMR, and assist the dermatologist in surgery as needed. Explanation of treatment, procedures, medications, as well as wound care & instructions will need to be communicated clearly. Follow up with outstanding biopsies, cultures, as well as any prescriptions and prior authorizations will need to be triaged daily. This position will also be responsible for organizing, stocking & cleaning exam & surgery rooms as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma and previous medical experience required. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and privacy policy regarding healthcare. Should be able to grasp a firm understanding of the importance of compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Phlebotomy experience a plus.
