Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Clinical Services has oversight of clinical care and clinical operations and also provides program management and clinical supervision/evaluation of all clinical management staff and line staff to ensure the delivery of high quality services to patients utilizing telemedicine, the 24-hour nurse triage helpline, remote primary care clinics and other clinical services. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: oversight of clinical programs; policy and procedure review; prioritization and delegation of duties; program audits and evaluations; assuring clinical program compliance with all regulatory agency standards; representation AMCM’s clinical services to external sources; and management of staffing capacity based on volume of services.

The Executive Director of Clinical Services provides leadership in strategy, innovation and standardization for clinical services across both behavioral and medical programs. This position is accountable to develop, maintain and evaluate safe and high quality clinical and operational services.

The Executive Director of Clinical Services is responsible to

  • Provide oversight of 24/7/365 Nurse Helpline Triage services to include:
  • Triage services
  • Health Information Line
  • Nurse2DOConnect telemedicine
  • Remote health clinic
  • Behavioral and Medical health services
  • Demonstrate profitability through allocation of resources to ensure optimal productivity.
  • Promote high quality and cost effective patient care and outcomes.
  • Responsible for ongoing planning, implementation, operations, monitoring, evaluation and promotion of clinical services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, manage and evaluate operational processes and procedures, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization.
  • Review, maintain and ensure implementation of all clinical, administrative and program policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Assess, collaborate, plan, design and operationalize new workflows and programs that are innovative within clinical services business line(s).
  • Participates as an active member of executive leadership and management teams in creation of annual budget; monthly budget review, ensure that operational processes stay within agreed upon budgets and timelines.
  • Use sound management practices to recruit, train, supervise and develop leadership and support staff.
  • Create and sustain a positive team culture, including quick and constructive resolution of staff conflicts. Oversee program directors and managers and support them in meeting their goals.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports as required by contractual agreements, quality assurance, and productivity or as needed by the leadership team.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate a quality program that is approved and in accordance with quality standards; recommend improvements to clinical services provided by clinical staff to ensure the highest quality of standards for all patients and members.
  • Participate on the Quality Management Committee and other committees as designated.
  • Mentor staff, set expectations, provide constructive feedback and guide the day-to-day activities of the director, manager and matrixed staff.
  • Proactively make recommendations on workflows, operations, staffing and other elements critical for success of the Clinical Services Department.
  • Ability to follow nationally recognized clinical guidelines and ensure all staff follow established guidelines, clinical pathways, client-specific instructions and other processes.

Education and/or Experience:

  • RN with 8 or more years of experience or MS/MSN with 5 years of experience.
  • 4 years related experience in nurse help line, triage, nurse advice line, emergency medicine, urgent care or other clinical area.
  • Progressive leadership within a health-related organization.

Knowledge and skills: (i.e., verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, organization skills, computer knowledge, sales knowledge, etc.)

  • Concurrent RN licensure in NH a Nurse License Compact State, current and in good standing.
  • Clinical experience involving substantial public contact and previous triage and education role.
  • Experience with quality management/risk management programs at the management level.
  • Strategic planning/program development experience.
  • Conflict management/negotiating skills.
  • Knowledge of organization and community resources.
  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Works effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong mentoring skills and leadership development skills.

  • Office setting, seated and computer work for extended periods as needed.

  • Office setting in HIPAA compliant home office or in the NH office.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
