Data Analyst, Value Analytics – Change Healthcare – Wyoming

Overview of Position

Designs and executes analyses using a variety of health care and pharmacy claims data to provide business intelligence and insights to internal and external stakeholders / clients. Generates ad hoc reports and regular datasets or report information for end-users using system tools and database or data warehouse queries and scripts. Maintains current data visualizations and assists in the creation of new ways to help solve both internal and external problems through the understanding and interpretation of data.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Query a variety of data sources to identify patterns in data
  • Identify unanticipated trends/patterns in the data
  • Visualize data in a way that makes it easy for others to understand the business problem / solution
  • Communicate suggestions for continuous improvements in data quality
  • Evaluate historical data to understand the impact of proposed changes to Value Analytics Programs
  • Create insights into, and metrics for client Value Analytics Programs work with Product Development team to implement findings into Value Analytics products
  • Clearly document and present findings from analysis projects, including data quality, methodology, results, and implications for clients
  • Presenting analyses, explaining methodology, and being the main point of contact regarding data/analytics issues for external clients on a daily basis


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 2 or more years of experience working in Health Care, Data Analytics, or Information Management with the ability to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret quantitative data
  • Self-starter: able to interpret requests and develop a plan with minimal guidance with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time
  • Creative problem solver: if primary plan ends up not working, capable of coming up with a secondary and tertiary plan
  • Excellent technical skills, including but not limited to SQL, Apache Superset, Tableau, and a variety of other Database Management Systems
  • Capable of formatting and presenting data and visualizations, either in a formal presentation (PPT) or in an ad hoc manner with the ability to translate complex methodology to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as: Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field preferred or related field/equivalent experience


What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Health Care Claims Data experience working with or exposure to claims data
  • Self-sufficient with regard to standard computer desktop tools and general office software knowledge; additional computer skills/tools a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to independently learn new technical skills (e.g., Spotfire, Python, R)
