Director, Global HEOR, Vyndaqel – Pfizer – New York, NY

ROLE SUMMARY

This position will support Vyndaqel in the Rare Disease Business Unit. The Director, HEOR, will collaborate in developing HEOR strategy and be responsible for implementing high quality evidence generation activities to support the value story and help achieve optimal reimbursement and access for Vyndaqel. Developing and executing HEOR and real-world data (RWD) studies to support access, reimbursement and differentiation will be a critical component. Their proposals need to align with overall access, commercial and clinical strategy and impact business objectives on a global scale. The Director, HEOR, will be responsible for the overall quality, scientific and technical excellence of HEOR deliverables. Effective partnership with Commercial, Global Medical and other cross-functional & platform partners will be required to develop, execute and deliver data and evidence for launch excellence. The role will cover US, prioritized International Developed Markets (IDM) and Emerging Markets (EM) as needed. The position reports to the PHI Integrated Team Lead, Vyndaqel

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating on development of HEOR strategy to support asset strategies and product positioning in partnership with the PHI & Global Teams
  • Defining the unmet evidence needs for payers and other stakeholders
  • Independently leading studies (e.g. treatment patterns, real world effectiveness, burden of illness, costing, epidemiology studies, etc.) that support value to payers
  • Collaborate with Medical, Statistics and Clinical on trial re-analysis to support local H&V needs
  • Collaborating with Medical Affairs and the RWE/ RWD Workstream members on the communication and publication strategy
  • Contributing to the life cycle management program utilizing individual depth of knowledge and experience in value evidence generation & reimbursement.
  • Creating and maintaining global value dossiers, payer value messages and innovative tools as needed
  • Generating peer-reviewed publications to communicate study findings in scientific channels in alignment with the product publication strategy
  • Leading the coordination of input from prioritized local country Health & Value teams on evidence needs and ensuring that the input is appropriately incorporated to support global market access needs
  • Assessing, synthesizing, and interpreting relevant literature and communicating findings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Executing and managing research projects with external collaborators/vendors to ensure timely completion and quality of deliverables as well as budget/legal compliance

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse cross functional leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • Masters (MSc, MPH) or Doctoral degree (PhD, Dr PH, ScD) in health services research, public health, epidemiology, or health economics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HEOR or relevant related fields

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated understanding of fundamental health services research methods and tools including but not limited to:
    • Health economics
    • Cost-effectiveness / budgetary impact modeling
    • Prospective and retrospective data analyses
    • Patient reported outcomes measures
    • Real world evidence studies
    • Epidemiology
    • Statistics
  • Knowledge and experience in rare diseases
  • Able to independently engage all levels of stakeholders through a strong customer orientation, strategic thinking, leading change, and building collaborative partnerships in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to assess anticipated value for projects/programs to ensure alignment to business priorities and prioritize accordingly
  • Experience with HTA organizations such as ICER, NICE, SMC, PBAC
  • Understanding of emerging Japan HTA methodology
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects (multitask) involving complex processes, significant budget, competing deadlines and rapidly shifting priorities in a compliant manner
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills are required
  • Ability to work successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones
