Overview:

This person will serve as the medical advisor for the Patient Advocacy team to develop procedures and policies for regular implementation and compliance. They will work with health care providers and patients to determine proper care options and assure best-in-class customer service.

A day on the job may include:

  • Determine potential medical treatments needed based on patient information and diagnoses
  • Interpret medical terminology and diagnostic test results for teams
  • Obtain, compile, and record patient medical data, records, health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination and other PHI information
  • Communicate with patients, providers, and team members during determination process
  • Investigate and drive low-cost best practice healthcare delivery options for patients
  • Stay current on medical treatments and advances, state, and national health care laws and procedures
  • Work with team to create procedures and processes to facilitate the patient experience
  • Enter data, such as demographic characteristics, history and extent of disease, diagnostic procedures, or treatment into systems
  • Produce statistics, medical research, and administrative material to track and present
  • Follow HIPAA law best practices

This job may be for you if you have:

  • Obtained a license as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive healthcare measures.
  • Knowledge of plant and animal organisms, their tissues, cells, functions, interdependencies, and interactions with each other and the environment
  • Understanding of insurance and/or self-funded plans
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance

E*xperience preferred*:

  • Experience working in a self-funded environment
  • Experience working for insurance companies

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
