The Medication Technician (Med Tech) administers medications to residents of Christian Care Senior Care under the supervision, guidance and training of a licensed nurse.

Resident Care Aides are responsible for providing direct resident care in a compassionate and skillful manner. They work with the facility’s healthcare team to provide and maintain a clean, safe, and attractive home for residents. Under the guidance of professional staff, Resident Care Aides provide assistance to residents as needed to help them remain as independent as possible.

Essential Job Functions / Specific Job Functions

  • Maintains courteous relationships with residents, families, co-workers and other employees and visitors.
  • Assist with residents’ activities of daily living needs, as well as other physical and emotional needs.
  • Dispense medications to residents according to the MAR.
  • Monitor residents’ health concerns and report information to Director of Clinical Care as appropriate.
  • Support residents’ rights to live independently as possible, maintain a sense of purpose and be involved in pursuits that bring a quality of life to each individual.
  • Approach task with a positive and flexible attitude.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in the area of creative problem-solving, conflict resolution, group planning and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and good judgment in matters of policy and procedure.
  • Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time with interruptions.
  • Exhibit flexibility and the capacity to be a self-starter.
  • Posses basic computer skills.

Required Education and Experience

  • Post-Secondary – Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Prefer some college.
  • Job Specific Training – Successful completion of the facility’s Med Tech training program is required.
  • Specific Experience – Experience in Resident Care is preferred. Experience in Medication Administration preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
