Clinical Informatics Specialist – Madelia Health – Madelia, MN

Full-Time, Monday through Friday, Days

The Clinical Informatics Specialist is a subject matter expert who assists with planning, design, development, testing, end-user training, implementation support, and adoption of the Electronic Health Record to achieve clinical transformation that results in improved clinical outcomes, end-user efficiency and financial outcomes. The position works with stakeholders in the areas of evaluation, planning, development, and implementation of new features, functionality, tools, and workflow. The position supports the end user by providing training for new hires and existing staff. Must be organized with strong leadership and project management skills. Have the ability to clearly communicate with diverse teams at multiple levels in the organization. Must possess solid problem-solving skills and have the ability to manage competing priorities

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing analysis of clinical and organizational needs related to EMR use and optimization
  • Identify, design and evaluate clinical information systems, applications and processes
  • Participate in the development of organizational policies and initiatives related to collecting, managing and communicating clinical information.
  • Ensure information systems policies, procedures and technologies comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Design and deliver training materials to educate users.
  • Lead EMR design, build, implementation and training.
  • Act as an agent of change to help promote organization adoption of EMR and workflow to optimize patient safety and experience.
  • Liaison between end users and EMR vendor
  • Troubleshoot end-user issues and follow-up with resolutions.
  • Proactively Identifies and escalates issues as appropriate. Develops mitigation plans when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in healthcare required.
  • Medical terminology and understanding of hospital and clinic workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field highly desirable but not required
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Cerner program software preferred
  • Background study and pre-employment drug testing required
