Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is an 881-bed quaternary care academic medical center that is a joint venture between Baylor College of Medicine and CHI St. Luke’s Health. Located in the Texas Medical Center, the hospital is the home of the Texas Heart Institute, a cardiovascular research and education institution founded in 1962 by Denton A. Cooley, MD. The hospital was the first facility in Texas and the Southwest designated a Magnet hospital for Nursing Excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, receiving the award five consecutive times. Baylor St. Luke’s also has three community emergency centers offering adult and pediatric care for the Greater Houston area.

Working in our fast-moving Cath Lab certainly offers a variety of clinical challenges to Cath Lab Techs who choose this clinical area. We love techs who can wear many hats and think quickly on their feet while providing the best patient care! The Cath Lab Tech Performs duties of circulating, scrub, and monitoring of invasive cardiology procedures. Demonstrates an understanding of all invasive procedures, the equipment and supplies for each procedure, and indications for performing each procedure

What you’ll need:

  • Patience and focus to constantly monitor high acuity patients
  • Proven ability to think and react quickly in critical situations
  • Passion for excellence in delivering quality care to our patients
  • Experience with EP, interventional, scrub assist for AAA procedures or radiographic/digital imaging technique


Tech 1 Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree -OR-
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist Radiography (RTR) , Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
  • CPR certified
  • Minimum one (1) year clinical experience in a hospital setting
