Summary: The Press Support is responsible for assisting the Press Operator in the set-up, operation, and maintenance of flexo presses to produce labels per our customer expectations.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly.
  • Reading and understanding the customer job jacket.
  • Ensure that all equipment needed is placed on the set-up cart.
  • Perform press make-ready by removing and loading print cylinders, material, lamination, die, ink, etc.
  • Assist press operators with setting up any auxiliary equipment.
  • Empties trash and rag containers as they become full.
  • Gathers label stock from the inventory clerk.
  • Remove finished rolls as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in a printing environment is preferred. Some experience in the operation of various hand tools is preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment.

Physical Conditions: Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear foot and/or other personal protective equipment while performing duties in a manufacturing setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell. In addition, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This job’s specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
