This is a per diem – as needed position.
Position Summary:
The ED Technician, under the direction of an Emergency Department Nurse, Emergency Department Physician, and/or private physician, facilitates and supports the provision of patient care. This will include performing tasks contributing to the care, safety and comfort of Emergency Department patients, families, guests; and to the functional operation of the Unit.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School Graduate preferred.
- License/Certifications: Basic Life Support Certification within six months of hire MOAB certification within twelve months of hire.
- Experience: EMT, CNA, or Technician experience preferred or current enrollment in a health care field of study. One to two years’ acute care experience preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Successful completion of Emergency Care Technician Curriculum within six weeks of hire.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Coordinates pre-hospital Emergency Services communication, keeps personnel informed of incoming patients.
- Assists with CPR.
