Position Summary Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Essential Functions  Contacts upcoming patients; introduces self, verifies/provides instructions and answers any patient questions/concerns.  Reviews physician order and patient history; verifies correct patient/exam and patient compliance with pre-exam instructions.  Acquires/reviews patient’s clinicalhistory and assuresthattheinformation isaccurately documented.  Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age-specific/modality-specific needs.  Providesverbal instruction thatelicits and achievespatient cooperationanddesiredresults.  Positions patient, equipment, devices, and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.  Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy/physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.  Delivers appropriatecarewhilerecognizing patient conditionsand ensuring successful completion ofprocedures.  Assesses/analyzes processed radiographs for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomyisdemonstrated in accordance with MQSA guidelines.  Exercisesprofessional judgmentin performanceofservicesandmaintains a professional demeanor complimentary to quality care.  Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication injection with and without useof powerinjectors.  Administersmedical aid asrequired in cases of adverse reactionsto contrast medication and/or other emergencies.  Appliessteriletechniquestoprevent cross-contaminationofcontagiousdiseases; flows ‘universal precautions’ where applicable.  Applies principles ofradiation safety to minimize exposure to patient,self, and others; ensuressafety of patients.  Complieswith FDA and MQSA regulatory requirements and all applicable state and federalregulations.  Adheresto OHICpolicy,procedures,protocols,mission statements and customer service and commitmenttoexcellencestandards.  Comprehends and complies withQuality Controlstandards and participatesin allQuality Control tasks/Quality Improvement efforts.  Assistsin supervision ofstudenttechnologists, as requested by competent authority.  Utilizes organizational Radiology Information Systems (RIS) computersystems effectively and accurately (e.g. patient arrival, completion of exams, correct coding of procedures completed, ‘push’ of digital exams for radiologist reading, retrieval of exams and reports.  Maintains appropriate, punctual attendance consistent withOHIC policies, ADA, FMLA and otherfederal,state and localstandards. Other Related Functions/Duties  Performs approved user-maintenance on radiology equipment and attachments.  Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment; maintains well-stocked and organized work area(s).  May be required to work at any other OHIC/OHRIfacility; perform other duties, as assigned by competent authority.  Supports and facilitates excellent Customer Service to all patients, family members, visitors/guests, physicians and team members. Education/Training  Graduate of accredited school of RadiologicTechnology. Licensure/Certification  Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and  Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification along with modality certification and  Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
