Adirondack Rural Health Network (ARHN) Manager – Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) – Glens Falls, NY

Adirondack Health Institute (AHI) is an independent, non-profit organization that is leading the way in rural health care transformation across a nine-county region of the North Country. We are seeking an Adirondack Rural Health Network (ARHN) Program Manager to join our team in our Glens Falls, NY office. The Adirondack Rural Health Network is a NYS DOH-funded program which provides a multi-stakeholder, regional coalition that informs on planning assessment, provides education and training to further the NYS DOH Prevention Agenda, and offers other resources that support the development of the regional health care system. Since 1992, ARHN has been providing a forum to assess regional population health needs and develop collaborative responses to priorities.

The Adirondack Rural Health Network (ARHN) Program Manager is responsible for providing program management, including execution, monitoring, implementing, and reporting, as well as maintaining and developing partner relationships covering seven counties (Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Fulton, Warren, and Washington) to achieve program outcomes and deliverables.

Responsibilities of the ARHN Manager include:

Operational Responsibility

  • Developing and implementing the yearly ARHN work plan for DOH;
  • Spearheading regional projects;
  • Creating program materials and reports;
  • Coordinating activities and events;
  • Representing AHI at various stakeholder meetings;
  • Communicating with network partners.
  • Overseeing the Community Health Assessment (CHA) committee, including:
  • Creating the yearly scope of services and working in partnership with the AHI Finance Team to create invoices and shepherd partner contracts.
  • Providing regional community health support to hospital and public health partners, including creating annual reports, data sheets, and other data tools as needed.

Functional Responsibility

  • Supporting partners with population health management;
  • Working with the Executive Director and AHI Finance Team to forecast a yearly ARHN program activities budget, accounting for travel and other supply needs;
  • Assuming ownership of assignments to ensure program expectations and deadlines are met;
  • Monitoring program implementation, ensuring effective outcomes within prescribed timelines, creating deliverables based on work team consensus, and documenting progress using program management software;
  • Maintaining contact with co-workers to complete assignments and projects;
  • Maintaining strong, mutually respectful partnerships with staff of assigned partner organizations, managing expectations and ensuring effective communication;
  • Performing other related duties, as assigned.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, health and human services, community health, business, or other related field required. Three + years’ experience in data analysis, program development, coordination, and/or implementation required. Candidates must have knowledge of community health, public health, evidence-based prevention strategies, working with coalitions, and developing marketing materials. Previous leadership experience preferred.

Other Skills: Candidates must have a demonstrated coalition building approach, with experience working with decision makers to reach consensus. The ability to articulate information clearly and concisely in verbal and written formats to a variety of audiences is required. Candidates must have excellent time management skills. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve a common goal is required. Candidates must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and objectives. The ability to work as part of a team while working with minimal supervision and maximum accountability is a must.

Other Requirements: Travel through the seven-county AHI service area is expected. Travel is primarily local during the business day with occasional overnight travel. Flexible work schedule is required to accommodate scheduling needs of partner organizations.

Must have the ability to write and speak clearly using the English language to convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception
