Administers the admission process of students to the UMMC undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs of study in the schools of medicine, dentistry, nursing, health related professions, and the school of graduate studies in the health sciences.

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in a business or academic setting. No substitute for bachelor’s level degree.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration required: N/A

General knowledge of higher education and university admissions processes; proficient with personal and business computer systems; strong interpersonal and listening skills; excellent verbal and written communications skills; self-driven and highly motivated; ability to: (1) manage and monitor student applications within an electronic student system; (2) work within multiple application deadline constraints; analyze tasks and prioritize appropriately; and (3) quickly and accurately analyze and process data.

Responsibilities

  • Manages student admissions applications within the sap student application system for determination of admissibility and to track applicant data.
  • Receives, reviews, and processes supporting supplemental application documents submitted outside the sap student system.
  • Collaborates with admissions committees within assigned UMMC schools and departments to facilitate the interview and/or admission of students.
  • Corresponds with applicants, university and community college counselors, and other interested parties relative to admission requirements.
  • Prepares admission reports upon request of the director.
