Residential Supervisor – Cobb County Community Services Board – Marietta, GA

JOB TITLE: Residential Supervisor

PROGRAM: Women’s Treatment Residential Services

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: The WTRS Residential Supervisor oversees day to day residential operations, including supervision of department staff performing direct care services. The WTRS Residential Supervisor promotes, encourages, and maximizes efficient operation of the WTRS program, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of program participants. Seeking to contribute to the success of the WTRS program, as well as the agency as a whole, the Residential Supervisor successfully carries out daily tasks including managing of department’s human resources, monitoring of program participants’ progress, and facilitation of life skills groups, through acquired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees day-to-day residential operations in a twenty-four (24) hour residential substance abuse treatment facility setting.
  • Supervises all department staff to include setting performance expectations, monitoring progress, identifying staff development needs and addressing problems through regularly scheduled staff meetings, individual supervision, and performance appraisals.
  • Daily oversight of the department to ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures, federal and state laws and accreditation standards.
  • Approves staff work schedules, timesheets, leave requests and secondary employment requests.
  • Recruits and makes selection recommendations for new hires. Provides departmental orientation and training.
  • Prepares and maintains records of individuals’ progress and services delivered, reporting changes in condition to direct supervisor.
  • Serves as a point of contact for internal and external customers seeking services and information about treatment or resolution.
  • Facilitates life skills groups, including education on personal hygiene, nutrition, money management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Participates in weekly treatment team meetings as directed by direct supervisor.
  • Intervenes, stabilizes and manages acute crisis situations as needed.
  • Assists in training co-staff in areas relating to service specialties as needed.
  • Performs housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, washing clothes, dishes, running errands, and inspection of facilities in accordance with environment of care.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of necessary appropriate therapeutic boundaries for working with vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of addictive diseases and/or mental health disorders and their impact on an individual’s functioning.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiar with computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), e-mail, fax, and scanning.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to remain professional when dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing multiple assignments.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out a variety of critical and time sensitive projects without detailed instructions.

  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and confidential information obtained through the course of completing assignments.
  • Ability to be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, assignments, and other interruptions, which may impact pre-established timelines and courses of action for completing projects and assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, staff, and internal and external stakeholders.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Maintain Agency performance expectations 100% of the time.
  • Complete and provide quality, collaborative service documentation 100% of the time. Complete all required documentation same day services are delivered/end of shift.
  • 99% accurate on entering information in EMR.
  • 100% of required trainings will be completed within specified time frames.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, vendors, and community stakeholders
  • Ability to lift: Up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to climb up and down building stairs
  • Ability to walk a reasonable distance when on community outings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education – High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Experience – Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with addictive diseases and/or mental health in a residential/inpatient setting.
  • Other – Criminal background check clearance, official academic transcripts, valid driver’s license/ID, drug screen, TB test, eligible 7yr MVR.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral healthcare or related field.
  • Experience –Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with addictive diseases and/or mental health in a residential/inpatient setting.
  • Other – Criminal background check clearance, official academic transcripts, valid driver’s license/ID, drug screen, TB test, eligible 7yr MVR.
