Facebook is seeking an Operations Integration Validation Engineer to join our Data Center Operations team. The Operations Integration Validation Engineer is responsible for helping validate new data center hardware tooling & automation readiness for deployment at a mass scale. This candidate must possess excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, plus strong operations management and analytical skills. This role will interact with individuals of all levels and requires an experienced, dedicated professional to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders on the validation of infrastructure tooling support for the full life cycle of new Facebook designed hardware entering our Data Centers. The ideal candidate has either developed robust software test plans, or validation planning as a system engineer supporting server or network equipment in a data center environment. They will use those skills to develop test plans for operational integration of future compute, storage and networking products into the existing software tooling infrastructure. This is a full time position.

  • Partner with cross functional development partners in HW Engineering and HW Technical Program Management to become conversant in the Facebook compute, storage and networking infrastructure road map
  • Partner with cross functional partners in Facebook’s Data Center Operations team to understand infrastructure deployment and operational requirements
  • Partner with Production Engineers, Validation Engineers, Automation Engineers, and Data Center Operations Engineers to build thorough test strategy and test plans for validating the software needed for Data Center Operations. Work with these teams to develop test plans based on the design specification, Data Center Operations requirements
  • Engage in larger cross functional programs, including requirements gathering
  • creating program plans and implementing pilot projects to support testing, systems integration or data center enhancements
  • and for the support of continuous automation testing of new hardware systems
  • Capturing Lessons for issues in Production and creating test cases to address gaps if any for future projects
  • 20% domestic and/or international travel required to Facebook Data Centers

  • BS or BA in a technical field or equivalent technical work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or engineering, software or hardware validation testing, or acceptance testing of compute, storage or networking equipment
  • Communication experience and demonstrated experience influencing cross functional teams
  • Interpersonal and solution-oriented experience
  • Technical aptitude demonstrated by knowledge with server and storage architecture and components, hardware troubleshooting and diagnosis, and/or hardware manufacturing
  • Experience working in a cross-cultural environment with remote teams
  • Advanced Python/C++ (object-oriented) and troubleshooting experience
