Job Description – Sales and Technical Representative

Summary

Responsible for selling in surgery as well as account servicing and education for doctors, residents, nurses, scrub technicians, and sterile processing technicians. A sales representative must be able to communicate with the hospital management in the following departments: the operating room, purchasing, materials management, sterile processing department and the C level executives.

Essential Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Sell, educate, service and direct doctors, nurses, technicians and other health care professionals within the operating room.
  • Actively sell our products to existing and prospective customers in doctors offices and operating rooms in hospitals (private, community, teaching hospitals, trauma centers, and others), outpatient clinics, and surgery centers in the assigned territory.
  • Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalog; emphasize salable features and relevant benefits.
  • Educate doctors, nurses, scrub technicians and other personnel on the safe use of our products through in-services, journal clubs, and direct business meetings.
  • Quote prices and prepare sales contracts for hospitals, doctors offices and outpatient centers and clinics.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep accurate records of expenses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with surgeons, physician assistants, nurses, scrub technicians, materials managers, purchasing directors and office personnel.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems or other issues.
