Physician?s Assistant Out-Patient Medical Provider – Easterseals UCP North Carolina & Virginia, Inc. – Statesville, NC

Position Summary:

Psychiatric services to be provided to individuals being supported for behavioral health concerns by ESUCP. Services include diagnostic impressions, medication management, psychiatric evaluations and consults with clinical staff. Clinical staffing will be available weekly to various services provided by ESUCP. Case discussions, level of care needs, and continuity of care for people supported by ESUCP is the focus. This position will meet regularly with Supervising Psychiatrist for clinical supervision required by licensure board. Documentation is required to be completed within 24 hours of service delivery.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Psychiatric Evaluations; comprehensive psychiatric form to determine diagnosis based on symptoms and possible medication needs. This service is provided to both adults and children being supported by ESUCP
  • Medication Monitoring; monitoring of prescribed medications to determine efficacy and symptom management
  • Documentation; documentation to support attended scheduled visits. In addition, service orders are required to be signed by medical providers to substantiate medical necessity of various services.

Supervisory Responsibility:

There are no supervisory responsibilities

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Documentation reviews
  • Managing schedule with administrative staff
  • Psychotropic medications samples given by pharmaceutical companies are to be distributed to individuals being supported by ESUCP if available. Log in notebooks are required to be initialed by prescriber when sample medications are given.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Physician’s Assistant Certification from Physician Assistant Board.
  • Demonstrate high moral and ethical character, and be free of any substantiated charges of abuse or neglect on the NC Healthcare Registry.
  • Active, unrestricted DEA Number
  • Active, unrestricted medical license to practice in North Carolina
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
