Part-time, Temporary
We are looking for Certified Nurse Assistants that can demonstrate caring, compassionate, and collaborative comradery. At Merced Behavioral Center, you will be working with an at-risk population of the mentally disabled and assist them in their daily needs. Working with licensed vocation nurses, certified nurse assistants are asked to monitor residents, promoting their independence in their care as well as assisting when needed, and be able and willing to discuss treatment issues on an on-going basis. We at Merced Behavioral Center emphasize teamwork and realize that every day is a day to learn and grow in this field of psychiatric nursing. Certified Nurse Assistants act as the eyes, ears, and heartbeat of the facility by maintaining the most face-to-face time with our residents.
Requirements
- A valid Certified Nurse Assistant certificate for the state of California (Those who recently completed the course waiting for their CNA certificate number or waiting to take the test can also apply)
- Certification must be in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Any form of government issued ID and social security card
Required Experience
- No experience is required but welcomed
Specifics of the Job
- Must be able to read, speak, and document in the English language and at a level required to do their tasks
- Must be able to think independently when situations or crises arise
- Must possess a spirit of friendliness and enthusiasm in this field towards both staff and residents, even difficult ones
- Must be able to be patient with residents and have a spirit of willingness to help
- Must be able to carry out tasks delegated by their charge nurses
- Must be willing to learn everyday you work
Wages
- Negotiable based on experience as a CNA, in the healthcare field, or in mental health
Incentives
- Medical/Vision/Dental/401K for full-time employees
- SIGN-ON BONUS: $300 after 90 days. $300 after 1 year.
