Experienced Surgery Scheduler Needed for Busy Spine Practice (laurel hts / presidio)

California Pacific Orthopaedics is looking to hire a key member of our team. For nearly 50 years, we have been the region’s leader in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic and sports-related injuries. Our board-certified physicians have treated members of the Oakland A’s, the Golden State Warriors, the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco Ballet. We are looking for an experienced Surgery Scheduler for our busy spine practice. Previous surgical scheduling experience with ambulatory surgery centers and/or hospitals is required (minimum 2 years).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

-Schedule surgical appointments using computerized scheduling programs
-Communicate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff
-Perform insurance verification and/or pre-authorization as necessary
-Possess ability to work with all members of the health care team in a friendly, efficient and professional manner
-Demonstrate effective communication skills and a high level of organizational skills
-Demonstrate ability to perform independently with minimal supervision
-Possess competency in ICD and CPT interpretative guidelines
-Possess knowledge of insurance plans and benefits
-Abide by HIPAA standards, upholding the privacy and security of PHI and ePHI
-Possess ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
-Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Salary is negotiable and DOE.
