Healthcare Chief Operating Officer (COO)

We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic COO to join our healthcare organization. As a COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our acute care hospital, identifying new service lines, managing facilities projects, and understanding grants and capital campaigns. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be results-driven, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the hospital, including identifying new service lines and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage and oversee facility projects, including construction, renovation, and equipment purchases.
  • Develop and manage budgets, financial reports, and contracts.
  • Understand grants and capital campaigns, and develop fundraising strategies to secure funding.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians, staff, patients, and community members.
  • Analyze managed care contracts and negotiate with insurance companies to optimize reimbursement rates.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement programs to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Hire, train, and manage staff members to ensure that all employees are performing at their best.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment that fosters teamwork and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration (MBA), or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare management experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare operations, regulations, and financial management.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in facility management and capital campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and community members.
  • Ability to analyze managed care contracts and negotiate with insurance companies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate staff members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with others.
