Healthcare Product Scrum Master – REMOTE

Job Summary

We are looking for a Healthcare Product Scrum Master on behalf of our healthcare solutions client for a fully remote position. The Senior Scrum Master will work hand in hand with the Agile teams to coach, mentor and guide them on their agile journey. The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for serving team(s) by providing leadership and guidance in the application of Scrum and helping team(s) improve their effectiveness in delivering valuable software or services for our customers. The Senior Scrum Master understands Scrum theory and framework and how to create or tune practices that support and guide self-management, continuous improvement and collaboration. They will be adept and working with and mentoring other scrum and agile professionals.  

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Deliver capabilities using agile practices while also following the Software Development Lifecycle, business process mapping, and various release processes as appropriate to ensure all risk, security, and development requirements are met
  • Facilitate the scrum process with cross functional impact that involve moderately complex projects, non projects, or maintenance work
  • Guide the scrum teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint
  • Optimize scrum team velocity to identify improvement opportunities to achieve higher levels of team performance
  • Collaborate with product owners, program or project managers to communicate delivery of work product from the team and escalate key risks and issues impeding scrum team effectiveness
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to overall enterprise vision on Agile and Scrum concepts
  • Establishes or adjusts empirical product planning, helps team create Sprint Goal and Product Goal
  • Supports team’s focus on creating high value increments meeting Definition of Done
  • Uses powerful questions to cause team to reflect on practice and processes as needed
  • Protects team from those outside the team whose interactions are not helpful. Conveys risk of blockers through a clear escalation process
  • Empowers the teams to use self-management
  • Provides a focus on continuous improvement
  • Collaborates closely with managers, team members, other Scrum Masters and Product Managers in managing cross-team dependencies

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated ownership of a specific product process and its related roadmap
  • Ability to manage work that is complex in scope and will involve multiple projects or initiatives
  • Proven ability to direct and instructs teams (scrum or developers) in the use and expansion of the products and its delivery
  • Scrum Master certification preferred
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches
  • Formally and informally educated in agile frameworks and principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field of study preferred
  • 5-8 years of full-time experience as a Scrum Master serving a software development team
  • Must be able to hear, speak and read English to communicate with staff and customers, and must be able to see to perform office and pharmacy functions.
