Job Details

The Director of Human Resources (Dir., HR) is responsible for developing and maintaining a labor environment that supports our mission, vision, and values and fosters growth, creativity, and loyalty to the company within the legal, regulatory, and policy requirements of an OPO/Tissue bank. The Director of HR is also responsible for the administrative and operational oversight of the Human Resources department and interdisciplinary functions to include: Recruitment, Record Keeping, Benefits, Employee Relations, Strategic Planning, Payroll/Wage and Hour administration, Compensation, Budget and Fiscal Responsibilities, Training and Orientation, and Corporate Compliance (as defined by federal law and enhanced by Corporate Compliance policy) in order to ensure that Human Resource policies and practices are compliant with local, state and federal regulations. Adheres to AOPO standards for HR guidelines pertinent to accreditation as well as all other applicable third-party regulatory compliance agencies to ensure consistency. Collaborates with Leadership team on employment related practices to ensure risk and liability are reduced and consistency in practice is observed, while allowing successful operations. The Director of HR is responsible for the hiring, evaluation, development, counseling and termination of Human Resources staff as needed.

Leadership Responsibilities:

1. Creates, presents, and supports an organizational atmosphere that respects each employee’s potential by providing support, education, and opportunity while ensuring that all staff meet performance standards.

2. Provides Leadership Team with the tools to recruit, hire, train, and promote development among their staff, while always defining performance expectations, ensuring that measurement tools are available, and appropriate and constructive feedback is given to staff.

3. Ensures that labor practices are within state, federal, county, and city laws, as applicable and that Leadership Team is informed of and adhering to critical legal requirements necessary to ensure compliant practice.

Location:

Corporate Office.

Travel:

Occasionally required to travel by personal auto or air as necessary to regional offices, meeting sites and other locations.

Work Hours:

Exempt employees shall be paid an established salary on a bi-weekly basis and are expected to fulfill the duties of their position regardless of hours worked. The workweek for full-time exempt is normally considered to be 40 hours; however, greater emphasis is place on meeting the responsibilities assigned to the position than on working a specific number of hours. Exempt employees are not eligible to receive overtime compensation. Must be available evenings, holidays and weekends as required.

Education:

Master’s degree required in Human Resources, Business or an allied field.
