The PRN Pharmacist shall be responsible for the complete supervision, management and compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of the pharmacy in the prescription department. He / She shall have the cooperation and support of the pharmacy staff in the performance of these responsibilities.
This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D and an active Pharmacy License in good standing in the State of Texas. Three to five years experience in the practice of pharmacy and one year of experience working with the patient medication management program.
Other Responsibilities:
* As the PRN Pharmacist you will ensure state and federal compliance with all aspects of the pharmacy, as well as;
* Reviewing and executing physicians prescriptions
* Helping to create and maintain positive Pharmacy- Physician relationships as well as patient relationships
*Organizing the pharmacy in efficient manner to make the identification of products easier, safer and efficient
* Maintain records of all pharmacy transactions necessary to ensure accurate control and accountability for all drugs as required by state and federal law
* Oversee Pharmacy Technicians in serving customers and verify the accuracy of prescription entry through completion of the dispense
* Fills prescriptions and maintains detailed and accurate records of all prescription transactions
* Maintain inventory levels to company goals, order product, rotate stock, comply with recalls and utilize return process
* Provide patient consultation and advise on drug utilization, interactions, and general medication protocol
Requirements:
* Graduate of an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education
* Must be an active Registered Pharmacist licensed in the State of Texas
* Three years of experience preferred
* Knowledge of laws governing drugs, pharmacy products, and third party plans
* Understanding of claims billing and collections preferred
* knowledge of Pioneer Pharmacy Software System a plus
