NP with Psych Experience – Bear Lake Community Health Center – Rock Springs, WY

Bear Lake Community Health Center in Rock Springs Wyoming, is looking for an NP with psych experience. Advanced practice registered nurses with a specialized graduate education who provide primary healthcare services to people of all ages with a focus on health promotion and health education. Nurse practitioners fill a crucial role in the healthcare system and provide patient care to people of diverse ages and backgrounds – often the underserved. Experience assessing, diagnosing, and treating adults, adolescents, and children experiencing symptoms of behavioral health disorders. Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement and the state’s Nurse Practice Act.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interview patients to obtain history, perform physical examinations, order lab, and other tests, and prescribe medications and treatments.

  • Provide continuity in managed care for patients with pre-existing long-term problems.

  • Make referrals for secondary and tertiary care.

  • Provide education on health promotion, disease prevention, and health education and counseling.

  • Prescribe pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies.

  • Serve as a researcher, consultant, and patient advocate.

  • Perform medical procedures according to privileges issued.

  • Provide health maintenance visits, evaluate immunizations and provide anticipatory guidance and referrals; perform a contract and special physical examinations.

  • Order, conduct, supervise, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests.

  • Document and code all patient contact accurately and legibly in the medical record.

  • Perform as an active member of the medical team.

  • Assist Medical Director in developing clinical practice guidelines.

  • Participate in the provider and medical care team’s meetings.

  • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited NP program and certified by the National Commission and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

  • Current Licensure as an NP to practice in the State by the State Boards.

  • Current DEA certification.

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • DOT certification preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Must be able to meet and maintain current BLCHC credentialing and privileging requirements. Must show good judgment under pressure.

  • Must be able to work as part of a team or independently.

  • Be able to communicate effectively, sometimes complex information, to patients, family, and medical team members.

  • Must have a focus on customer service and keeping the patient comfortable, informed, and safe.
