Director of Nursing (DON)-Eating Disorder Treatment Program – Bright Road Recovery – Claremont, CA

This is a full-time, in-person position in our eating disorder treatment program.

Requires full COVID-19 vaccination (including boosters).

Summary

In addition to providing regular nursing services, the Director of Nursing provides supervision over other nurses and has administrative duties related to the overall functioning of the nursing department within the eating disorder program. He/she consults with the physician and psychiatrist to ensure appropriate medical interventions are achieved and ensures the interventions are carried out, sharing appropriate information with the program care team. The Director of Nursing meets with patients personally and ensures a daily assessment is made and recorded and ensures all medications and medical needs for the patient are appropriately completed and documented.

Responsibilities

  • Sets and oversees all policy and procedure for nursing department in coordination with Medical Director and Clinical Director/CEO
  • Coordinates, develops and oversees policy and procedure regarding program pharmacist, pharmacy and prescription needs for patients
  • Coordinates, develops and oversees policy and procedure for licensure, certifications and accreditation compliance
  • Oversee admissions and discharges processes:
  • coordinates with admissions team and program physicians to obtain clearance to admit patients
  • performs/oversees admission assessments and nursing care plans
  • Ensures patients receive daily nursing contact and adequate nursing attention throughout the day and week while in program
  • Available for in-person consultation within 30 minutes if no RN is on duty
  • Provide appropriate staffing via hiring, training, scheduling and managing nursing staff
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups as needed
  • Providing clear and complete client documentation
  • Implementing Physician Orders
  • Responsible for carrying out any orders received from the physician and psychiatrist, and reporting information to the Program Director and Facility
  • Understanding the therapeutic process and confidentiality laws, and having strong knowledge of professional ethics
  • Demonstrating leadership abilities, with an ability to communicate with persons from all educational and cultural backgrounds
  • Demonstrating tact, initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude
  • Attends treatment team meetings
  • Meets with contracting pharmacist to facilitate inspections and reports
  • Oversees infection control and housekeeping requirements for facility
  • Provides trainings for program staff and develops medical education activities and groups for patients
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills to effectively and efficiently operate EHR program for patient charts and utilize Google and/or Microsoft platform applications for communications within the organization
  • Performs other duties as assigned by CEO

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
