The patient services representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients while scheduling appointments according to each physician’s assigned template. The employee should be willing to assist the patient, co-workers, nursing staff and physicians as needed.
This position covers our Denton location and is primarily remote. In person attendance is required one day per month or as needed for business needs.
Essential Functions:
1. Ability to schedule a high volume of appointments in a timely and courteous manner.
2. Provides exemplary customer service; treats patients and coworkers with courtesy and discretion.
3. Schedules new patients and established patient appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or staff office guidelines. Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes; notifies appropriate clinic personnel and documents E.H.R.
4. Verifies all pertinent patient demographic information in E.H.R system, including insurance information.
5. Review patients medical charts to ensure appointments are scheduled properly.
6. Call prior weeks no show appointments to reschedule and document chart
7. Ability to adapt to daily schedule changes
8. Performs special projects as assigned by Administrator or other members of management
9. Performs other tasks and duties as may be added from time to time
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent typing skills
- Excellent grammar and spelling
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
