This position performs activities associated with the Medical Call Center and schedules and documents in the electronic medical record matching the child’s medical needs and preferences with a physician on the hospital’s medical staff, performs an assessment and provides health information and nursing care advice. The nurse answers inquiries regarding physicians on the hospital’s medical staff and questions about the hospital’s services. This nurse must be knowledgeable in all areas of pediatrics, competent in recognizing the gravity of a particular health care problem, able to prioritize those needs and act upon urgent medical problems while providing safe, effective and appropriate care.

Job Description

1. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Five years Pediatric nursing experience, 2 years at Lurie Children’s preferred.

2. Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse within the State of Illinois.

3. CPR certified knowledge of word processing, typing skill of 25 wpm and computer experience essential.

Bachelor’s Degree: Nursing (Required)
