Processing of incoming referrals to include: referral receipt, referral review and sorting per institutional processes, request of new referral when applicable
Interaction with patient and/or referral sources, new patient registration/update and scheduling
Obtain insurance authorization and financial counseling
Submitting consultants’ replies for incoming referrals to referring sources following institutional processes
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Three (3) years of customer service, office or related experience required with (2) two years of the experience in a healthcare setting
Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement
Clinical medical background from patient experience
Knowledge of healthcare payer practices as they relate to referral management
