Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Supervisor – Outpatient/Eating Disorders – Bamboo Nutrition Therapy, Inc. – Los Angeles, CA

Seeking clinical supervisor (must have active registered dietitian (RD/RDN) licensure) for growing dietitian practice specializing in eating disorders and mental health disorders in the greater Los Angeles area. Hours are flexible; part-time or full-time role available. Anticipated hiring timeline September 2022. Ideal candidate able to work at 1-2 of our office locations (current locations are DTLA, West Los Angeles, Torrance, Mission Hills, and Whittier), however remote position will be considered for the right candidate.

Ideal candidate thrives in a supportive team atmosphere and places a high value on collaboration, willingness, and continual professional growth. Experience in the field of behavioral health nutrition, with specific emphasis in eating disorder care, is required. Prior experience in supervisory role is not required but a desire to learn and develop a new skill-set particular to this role is a must. Client population is a mix of behavioral health cases and general nutrition cases (diabetes, weight management, etc.).

Job Description:

– Minimum 8-10 hours per week, W-2 status

– Provides direct clinical oversight for clinicians, fostering MNT, counseling, and behavioral health nutrition skill sets at the outpatient level of care

– Supports clinicians in implementing Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size principles.

– May supervise pre-licensed staff, which requires undersigning documentation

– Attends and participates in team, supervisor, and administrative meetings as required

– May choose to participate in providing one-on-one nutrition counseling for clients at the outpatient level of care

– Maintains professional and therapeutic boundaries with clients and supervisees

– Follows Best-Practice guidelines for collaboration with community partners, such as treatment centers, therapists, and physicians

– May precept interns interested in outpatient or behavioral health concentrations

– Participates in leadership tasks and responsibilities as needed

– Participates in developing clinical resources and administrative policies regarding direct client care

– Collaborate and communicate with colleagues in a supportive, constructive work environment

– Complies with all HIPAA laws and regulations

Required qualifications:

– Education: Bachelor’s degree at minimum

– Completion of an ACEND-accredited dietetic internship (verification documentation required upon hire)

– Maintains up-to-date registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as registered dietitian nutritionist for the duration of contract

– Minimum 2 years of work experience in behavioral health field with large emphasis on care for eating disorder population

– Does not plan to be engaged in employment simultaneously with any other organization, private practice, etc. that would constitute a conflict of interest

– Calm, compassionate demeanor in engaging with clients/patients

– Ability to self-manage time efficiently in the process of providing quality care

– Effective and responsive in communicating with clients and colleagues

– Willingness to learn on the job, receive and implement feedback from peers, and engage in a continual professional learning process

– Desire to participate in a collaborative team dynamic

– Familiarity with Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size concepts and application

Preferred qualifications:

– 3-5 years eating disorders/behavioral health nutrition experience

– Minimum 1 year outpatient counseling experience

– If in recovery yourself, 1 year minimum of recovery time is encouraged

– Desire to pursue CEDRD credential, or having already obtained CEDRD credential

– Familiarity with client-centered, trauma-informed approach to care
