We are currently seeking a Mental Health Counselor for our Abuse Resolution and Recovery Treatment Services (ARRTS).
This position will offer behavioral interventions for our clients and their families to improve their social, emotional, and behavioral issues. One on one interventions target the strengths of clients to teach appropriate coping skills for the purpose of transferring learned skills/interventions to the client/youth’s natural support systems and to improve overall behavior. Clinical teams work with family members to utilize customized treatment plans for the needs of the individual.
ARRTS addresses traumatic experiences that lead to mood and
behavioral disturbances. This trauma tends to include sexual, emotional,
and physical abuse. This complex treatment utilizes psychotherapy
modalities to keep children in their communities and school programs.
The ARRTS program offers individual, group, and family therapy services as
part of the treatment course.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a behavioral sciences field.
Experience and Training: Minimum of three years experience in behavioral healthcare services for children and adolescents. A minimum of two years experience working directly with abuse or trauma victims. Must have, or be in training, to receive certification in the treatment of sexually aggressive youth in at least a 60-credit hour academic and practicum program with competency evaluation and testing. Certification is a requirement within six months of the date of hire.’
Hours: M- F 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm
