Immediate Medical Care MD is seeking a Medical Assistant for an Walk-in Medical Office setting. We have full time with benefit positions and part time positions available. We are a new state of the art facility. We recently won the Doctors of Distinction Award as the Best Urgent Care Center in Westchester and Fairfield County for 2020. There was a Town of Ossining celebration where our medical office was recognized as “Local Heroes” by the Hispanic Parents Community of Ossining, in attendance was Assemblywoman Sandy Galef and Ossining Village Board of Trustees/Counsel of Ossining members Omar Lopez and Manuel R. Quezada.

We are privately owned, non-hospital affiliated medical office.

All applicants must be a graduate from a Medical Assistant Program.

The ideal candidate must be energetic and compassionate. The Medical Assistant is responsible providing basic care to patients

Responsibilities include assisting in patient care, escorting patient to room, taking vital signs, documenting patient data, assisting provider, discharging patients, cleaning rooms, performing labs test, phlebotomy, front desk duties and other typical task required by the job position.

Education/Experience/License/Certificates/Registration and Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in medical assisting is preferred.
  • The ideal applicant would be a certified or registered Medical Assistant with verifiable status with the AAMA or AMT.
  • The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of Clinical MA experience.
  • BLS Certification is Required
  • Ability to work all shifts as needed and the ability to work evening hours and rotating weekends.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records is required.
  • Previous experience with an EMR system is required.
  • Applicant must have great patient relation attitude and must always be professional and friendly with all patients.
  • Employment physical exam clearance will be required prior to starting, including recent PPD/QuantiFERON from the last 6 months.
  • Applicants need to be willing to submit to a background check.

Hours

All applicants must be willing to work evening and weekend hour. Weekends are rotational and full time applicant should expect to work at least 1-2 weekends a month. Part time or full time positions are available.

Part Time Candidates, please identify what days you are able to work. However all part-time candidates must be willing to work 8-12 hour daily shifts, depending on the day that is worked, and the volume of patients and work load. Ideally part time candidates should be able to contribute at least 2 days a week.

We do our best to make the schedule fair for everyone. Our current hours are M-F 2:00pm-8:00pm and Sat & Sun 11:00am-3:30pm. However, the shift can range from around 1/2pm until all work is finished on weekdays and 10/11am to finish on weekends. Finish could mean any time after the time we close, and could be 1-3 hours later depending on volume of patients and work load to complete all task for the day.

Compensation Amount will depend on experience but will be between 17-21/hr. Benefits are available to full time candidates. There is a potential for long term growth with the position and benefits are offered to fulltime long term employees. The ideal applicant is expected to have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical assistant and have MA certification/schooling completed.

The hired applicant(s)should expect to start working right away to about 2 weeks of hire. Shadowing will occur 2-3 times prior to officially starting to make sure both the applicant and the employer are compatible.
