United Health Services is seeking a Patient Transport Aide to join our Wilson Medical Center team in Johnson City, NY. This is a benefits-eligible position.

Patient Transport Position Overview
As part of Wilson Medical Center’s Patient Transport and Linen Services team, the Patient Transport Aide is responsible for escorting patients throughout the hospital, delivering equipment and supplies, and keeping support service areas clean. Patient Transport Aides are familiar with the hospital’s layout and various department locations, which are visited and explained in detail during your orientation and training period.
UHS Wilson Medical Center is a 280-bed hospital and Level II Trauma Center. In this position, you’ll serve a medical facility that is a regional leader in cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and neurosciences, cancer care, maternity and high-risk obstetrics, neonatal intensive care, blood disorder treatment, and physical therapy and rehabilitation. Wilson is a bustling hospital and is a 24-hour designated stroke and chest pain center.
Patient Transport Responsibilities and Expectations
Assist and transfer patients into and out of wheelchairs, stretchers, and bed
Transport patients with IVs, oxygen, etc. to and from nursing units and ancillary departments by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed
Transport deceased to the hospital’s morgue and release deceased from the morgue
Prepare, sort, pick up, and deliver supplies and equipment such as linens, parcel packages, patient records/equipment, and mail throughout the hospital
Return clean and soiled linens to designated areas
Clean and maintain support service areas and storage rooms
Construct and dismantle orthopedic frames as instructed

Position Qualifications
Minimum:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic; addition subtraction, division and multiplication. Ability to operate all types of Material Handling equipment.
CPR certification within three months of hire
Ability to operate an iPad or computer and follow verbal/written instructions
Preferred:
Previous hospital experience as an aide/orderly or transportation aide
