OR RN- Experienced or New Grads! – Catholic Medical Center – Manchester, NH

If so, we are looking for an Operating Room Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals in order to provide the highest quality care and make critical decisions on clinical issues within a patient-centered care model.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Functions under the supervision of the surgeon during a surgical procedure and carries out functions that will assist the surgeon with optimal results for the patient.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the general direction of the Clinical Director OR/Sterile Processing and/or Clinical Nurse Manager and in accordance with standards of care and practice established by the Nursing Organization, the specific department; the rules, regulations and/or standards established by the State Board of Nursing, the Joint Commission, Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and appropriate specialty organizations relevant to the patient population under care, the incumbent performs the following functions:

· Assess patient’s condition before surgery

· Ensure that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment

· Keep the operating room sterilized

· Assist with positioning the patient on operating table

· Monitor patient’s vital signs

· Evaluate postoperative patients

· Reviews charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedure

· Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards

· Communicate with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications:

Education:

· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing preferred.

· BSN strongly preferred.

· Specialty certification strongly preferred.

Experience:

· Minimum of one year of nursing experience and/or meets the requirements of Entry RN.

· Previous OR Nursing experience preferred but not required.

Licensure/Certification:

· Current nursing licensure in the State of NH as a Registered Nurse.

· American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
