Overview:

Registered Physical Therapists (RPT) exist to enhance the health and well-being of people through the high quality of care. RPT has been serving the Salt Lake Valley since 1971. RPT’s multiple locations allow us to provide quality care throughout the valley including Salt Lake City, Sandy, Midvale, Murray, Cottonwood Heights, West Jordan, South Jordan, Riverton, Herriman, Bluffdale, Draper, and Saratoga Springs.

RPT offers a variety of services including outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, sports medicine, industrial and workplace health, aquatic therapy, women’s health, inpatient/acute care, sports performance, and running analysis. RPT strives to provide advanced and personalized care to get patients back to work and play faster.

We are looking for someone who will be a team player and can interact with people in an exceptional way – as the face of the company, your interaction with patients and visitors is one that sets the tone for their entire treatment.

This position will handle all desk operations including, but not limited to, all aspects of the patient registration and scheduling process. They will ensure financial obligations are met by the patient which includes the collections of copays, outstanding balances, and any payment plans available. The core responsibility of this role is to ensure the efficiency of clinic flow between the front office staff, medical staff, and other Departments.

Responsibilities

  • Register and schedule patients via phone
  • Maintain patient callback list
  • Completes patient registration process by reviewing accounts and other compliance-related documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Obtains and documents missing information required for registration
  • Collects all necessary co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Works with physical therapists to ensure all the information is there to treat the patients with exceptional care – calling doctor offices to get operative, MRI or X-ray reports, prescriptions, or clinic notes
  • Ensure cash is reconciled correctly
  • Submits supply orders for clinic
  • Help monitor patient flow and notify appropriate staff to ensure workflows are up to date
  • Perform other duties, as required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to perform the essential job functions
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful or difficult situations
  • Have knowledge of HIPPA regulations to ensure patient information is safeguarded
  • Be able to explain insurance benefits to patients in a way they can understand
  • Ability to be highly motivated while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment without supervision
  • Ability to work in a clinic with multiple providers and services
  • Be able to learn new computer software and process
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Qualifications

  • One year of office experience or equivalent work experience
  • Must be able to multi-task and work well with a team
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Medical office experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
