We are in search of a Traveling Orthodontics Assistant to support 3 offices in the Houston area. (South Houston, Scott St & Woodforest)
Orthodontics Assistant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Educates patients on the oral healthcare of braces and their appliances.-
- Takes digital diagnostic x-rays and photos.
- Takes impressions, pours and fabricates models. Mixing amalgam, cement, and pulp paste and preparing impression materials
- Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
- Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
- Placing and cementing bands
- Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
- Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must maintain an active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) License registered with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) preferred
- Current certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training
- Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpful
- Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
- Ability to travel within a 20 mile radius to 3 offices on different days of the week (South Houston, Scott Street & Woodforest)
