Radiology Tech – SALIDA HOSPITAL DISTRICT – Salida, CO

$3000.00 SIGN ON BONUS: with a 2 year commitment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

A. RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST
1. Consistently provides quality patient care in a professional atmosphere while performing radiographic procedures with accuracy and professionalism as prescribed by a physician, acknowledging the special needs of patients, i.e. pregnancy, trauma, sick and/or elderly patients.
2. Consistently performs quality radiographic exams by:
a. Determining proper technique through the selection of voltage, current and exposure time to minimize patient and staff exposure and to effect quality diagnostic images;
b. Properly positioning patient to obtain optimum views of specified area of body as requested by physician;
c. Properly shielding to minimize radiation to patient and staff and to ensure a safe environment.

3. Transports patients to and from department and assists patient from bed or gurney to exam table.
4. Assures that any required consent forms are signed prior to examination, and obtains pertinent and adequate history on all patient exams.
5. Obtains and fills out proper reaction sheets and histories as necessary for all patients; and of allergies as warranted.
6. Practices sterile techniques and cleanliness at all times to prevent cross-contamination.
7. Performs radiographic procedures in the operating rooms, emergency rooms, and recovery room and patient rooms, using portable equipment in a safe, efficient atmosphere.
8. Wears film badge at all times while performing any ionizing radiation exams.

This position may require special skills listed below.
1. Accurate, efficient, key-boarding skills; ability to work under pressure with multiple
priorities; highly organized.
2. May be assigned to other specialized modalities as per documented competencies.
3. May be assigned to become competent in starting IVs and drawing blood from IV catheter.
4. May be assigned to work at the either of the clinics.
5. Will share on call responsibilities with their co-workers.
6. Will be put on the holiday work schedule.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Must have graduated from an approved ARRT program
  • One year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current Registration by the ARRT (R) or ARRT eligible (must be registered within one year).
  • Current CPR certification.

HRRMC has a full-time (40 hrs/wk ) position as a Registered Radiology Tech. This position will be Monday – Friday working 8 hour shifts and may include on call and weekend hours. OR/Pain C- arm experience preferred. Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic procedures to assist in a diagnosis of disease and injuries. The Radiologic Technologist works effectively with patients and patients’ families and maintains a cooperative relationship with interdepartmental personnel.
