Therapist – Morrison County **(Starting at $80,000)** – Greater Minnesota Family Services – Little Falls, MN

FULLTIME FULLY LICENSE IN HOME INTENSIVE THERAPIST IN MORRISON COUNTY **($80,000 DOE STARTING PAY)**

This position is a unique collaborative partnership with Morrison County Health and Human Services and Greater Minnesota Family Services. It has been intentionally designed to reward you with a significantly higher rate of pay than average because the services with at-risk youth and their families are intense (2-3 times per week) and it involves afternoon and evening work because that is often when families are available. The primary services you are asked to provide are:

  • INTENSIVE FAMILY SYSTEMIC SERVICES: The ‘best practice’ that helps at-risk youth and their families is to connect with them Intensively in their home and community environments, 2-3 times per week. Much of the time the service is aimed at reuniting children who are in a group home or foster care placement with their families; or may be entering a placement where the aim of the therapist is to get them reunited with their families as soon as possible). This program is called the ‘Community Intensive Bridging’ (CIB) project.
  • AFTERNOON AND EVENING SERVICES: Again, ‘best practice’ is to be available when families can schedule meetings with you. Sometimes a child can be seen at school (depends upon the school) or after school. Often parents are available in the evenings, so the Counselor needs to plan for 3 to often 4 evenings per week. Some staff see families on Saturday mornings, so they can have one more night at home.
  • ON CALL: Staff in these positions need to give out a cell phone number to clients so they can call when difficulties arise. With the Intensity of in-home, family-based services this does not happen often, but you do need to be available to take calls when a parent or child needs to talk to you.
  • CUSTOMER CONTACT: The only way this program works with high-risk youth and their families is for you to have a close working relationship with each Social Worker from the County that refers a youth/family to you for services; and the group home or foster home the child may be in. We ask you to become, in a sense, part of the overall Community Team that wraps around the child so everyone is on the ‘same page’ for services. Also, the other members of the Community Team have often been working with the family for a long time so they are a wealth of information about the situation; and they will work with you to:

1.) Introduce you to the youth and the family.

2.) Explain why in-home service will be helpful for the family.

3.) Review the parts of the plan that all of the Community Team will be working on for the child.

3.) And assist with other needs that may emerge for the youth/family during treatment.
