Summary
Practitioner will be required to provide Eyewear exams to military personnel, which includes: Distant visual acuity – Corrected and uncorrected, both monocular and binocular, Near visual acuity (ages 45 & over) – Corrected and uncorrected, binocular only, Spectacle prescription via refraction (to include multivision) and Pupillary distance measurements (distant/near). Results will be entered in proper Military Forms.
Education/Qualifications
Qualified Optometrist candidates will possess a Doctor in Optometry Degree. Qualified candidates must hold an active license and have current hands on experience. Must be able to work independently, have good interpersonal skills and work as part of a team, while being flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Needs to have basic computer knowledge and skills. Candidates must possess the ability to adapt to different, stressful environments. Must be able to work long hours that require active movement on a continual basis to different locations.
*Knowledge of Military procedures and protocols, databases and acronyms is preferred but not required.
