TITLE: BILINGUAL MEDICAL ASSISTANT
Summary: Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a provider. Administrative duties include: scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties include: taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by provider. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Take and record patient vital signs, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, head circumference, and height
- Record accurate and complete patient and family history information on patients’ charts
- Fill out all forms that are complete and accurate
- Meet all deadlines
- Collect blood, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing, and perform all other diagnostic testing as required
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Inventory and order medical supplies/materials
- Follow all safety precautions to protect self and patients
- Give injections or treatment as directed
- Perform routine laboratory testing
- Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records

TITLE: BILINGUAL MEDICAL OFFICE ASSISTANT PAID TRAINING
SUMMARY: This position is primarily responsible for support with the daily activities of a medical office including: patient service, filing, telephone coverage, appointment scheduling, registration, and patient referrals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Update and maintain an electronic patient system as required
- Answer telephone and either respond to inquiry, direct caller to appropriate personnel, or initiate a triage slip for response from medical personnel
- Schedule appointments and enter appointment date and time into computerized scheduler
- Conduct and/or assist in reminder calls to patients
- Greet and direct patients, salespeople, and visitors
- Register patients and patient verification
- Make appropriate updates in computer system and on patient’s chart
- Prepare all billing in computerized system for processing by finance
- Collect payments, verify insurance, and reconcile daily cash reports
- Assist in resolving patient complaints
- All other duties assigned
