The Associate Director, Medical Science Liaison (MSL) Scientific Communication, is accountable for facilitating, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating scientific information and tools for field Medical Science Liaison use. They will be responsible for creating, submitting, and maintaining therapeutic materials that is aligned with functional area needs and overall strategic goals. They will collaborate closely with the Director of MSL Field Strategy and Tactics, therapeutic Medical Directors, therapeutic Directors, and field therapeutic leads. This position will directly report to the Director of MSL Field Strategy and Tactics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow all applicable policies and procedures related to Bausch Health (BHC) employees and contractors.
  • Develop and disseminate scientific materials that is aligned with strategic goals.
  • Partner with therapeutic Medical Directors and key internal stakeholders to create, submit, and maintain via VeeVa MedComms, strategic MSL field content for use with Key Medical Experts (KME), market access, internal Medical Affairs training, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Identify learning opportunities that scientifically support ongoing Field MSL development.
  • Stay abreast of trends in BHC therapeutic areas and update strategic field scientific materials in a timely manner in accordance with new clinical trials, disease state, guidelines, therapeutic options, and competitor data.
  • Evaluate the success of field scientific materials and modify, as needed.
  • Assist with Medical Affairs training meetings (virtual, on-site/offsite, national).
  • Work collaboratively with the Associate Director, MSL Scientific Communications.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized, online MSL resource library for all therapeutic areas (i.e. SharePoint)
  • Develop and maintain a centralized, online MSL library of upcoming promotional programs to assist therapeutic Directors and field MSLs in speaker training.
  • Ensure adequate, compliant training on medical content across the organization.

Minimum Requirements:

  • PharmD, MD, PhD, NP or PA degree in a pharmaceutical science preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in a Medical Affairs department within the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Must be able to consistently perform work requiring a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent task management skills including planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution are required
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills with ability to anticipate issues and impact on related areas of an event or project
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and a strong working knowledge of databases
