Job Details
The Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading a team of Software, QA and Data Engineers. Collaborate with Architects, DevOps, and Product Owners to ensure standards and best practices across the entire SDLC. Recruit, manage and lead a high-performance team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
- Oversee the functionality of software application systems by coordinating the design, development, and maintenance of applications.
- Responsible for scoping projects, determining requirements, preparing schedules and timelines, and ensuring project completion.
- Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to create technical specifications and designs.
- Lead software systems flow analysis.
- Oversee performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability and automation of new and existing systems.
- Monitor software system functionality and identify potential problems.
- Manage software application systems’ operations by working with QA to conduct tests and trial runs.
- Support, repair, and upgrade existing applications to eliminate errors, enhance performance, and accommodate clients’ business needs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THIS POSITION
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field
- 5+ years of leadership experience
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
- 5+ years Java development experience in Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, microservices and scalable architecture experience
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles and patterns, especially in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of Redis and React is a plus
- Experience in scalability and performance tuning
- Experience scoping complex projects/capabilities and driving through to completion, identifying risks and improvement opportunities
- Effective problem solving, communication and team-work abilities
- Healthcare industry experience is a significant plus
- Demonstrated success with delivering products using modern software techniques
