Education:
A clinician must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, mental health, psychology, or other behavioral sciences, or human service counseling field from an accredited college or university, unless licensed at the Certified Supervised Counselor Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD) level, then an associates degree or higher in human service field is acceptable. A clinician must be licensed either by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners or Board of Professional counselors and Therapists. It is preferred that a clinician have experience working with Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse (A.O.D.A.) clients.
Job Duties:
The major task of a clinician will be to serve as group therapist for either the twenty-six (26) week educational and group therapy D.W.I. program, or for the six (6) week D.W.I. Education Program He or she will also be expected to complete jointly with clients individual treatment plans; maintain individual weekly progress notes; prepare monthly progress notes; prepare discharge reports; make individual and/ or family interventions; and interact, within confidentiality laws, with Probation-Officers, Court System, D.W.I. Monitors, and the other staff within the Program as needed for quality care. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
