Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist – American Pain Consortium – Lafayette, IN

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

  • Conduct patient assessments and develop and execute an effective anesthetic plan
  • Manage the patient’s airways and respiratory status
  • Educate patients about their surgery and recovery
  • Monitor patient’s vitals before, during, and after a medical procedure
  • Help prepare operating rooms by setting up equipment, laying out supplies, and preparing necessary gases
  • Prepare and administer anesthetics for patients
  • Perform regular patient visits and legibly record findings in a patient’s records
  • Request and assess diagnostic tests
  • Remain up to date with the latest advances in the anesthesia field including the introduction of new medical equipment and techniques
  • Assist with stimulator and pump implants, minimally invasive fusions, and nerve blocks and injections performed by anesthesia trained pain management physicians under conscious/moderate sedation (propofol, fentanyl, versed)
  • Work with other medical staff to develop pain management plans

Education and/or Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • Minimum 2 years working experience as a CRNA required
  • Current RN license required
  • Skilled in airway management techniques and chronic pain treatment
  • Proficient understanding of current anesthesia practices and techniques
