Billing Supervisor – COVE Behavioral Health – Tampa, FL

  • Oversee the operations of the billing department, encompassing medical coding, charge entry, claims submissions, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management.
  • Serve as the practice expert for all coding and billing processes.
  • Plan and direct patient insurance documentation, workload coding, billing and collections, and data processing to ensure accurate billing and efficient account collection.
  • Ensure billing and claims have been analyzed, claims have been submitted to proper insurance entities, and issues have been resolved.
  • Maintain contact with other departments to obtain and analyze additional patient information to document and process billings.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain internal processes for client information management.
  • Review and interpret operational data to assess need for procedural revisions and enhancements; participates in the design and implementation of specific systems to enhance revenue and operating efficiency.
  • Analyze trends impacting charges, coding, collection, and accounts receivable and take appropriate action to realign staff and revise policies and procedures.
  • Understand and remain updated with current coding and billing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Supervise billing office personnel, to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
  • Provide, oversee, and/or coordinate the provision of training for new and existing billing staff on applicable operating policies, protocols, systems, and procedures, standards, and techniques.
  • Sustain a positive, caring, supportive, recovery-oriented environment.

Supervisory responsibilities: 1-5 people.

Education and Experience:

  • High school or Associate degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screen prior to start date.
