Urology Physician Assistant – NAU Urology Specialists – Austin, TX

NAU Urology Specialists is looking for a caring, motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to expand our current General Urology and Men’s Health and Wellness service. Must be team-oriented and patient-centered. We are REQUIRING SEVERAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE in the clinical setting. Urology experience is preferred but will train the right individual. Please do not respond to this job posting if you do not have several years of experience in the clinical setting.

Regarding lifestyle, we meet patients where they are and use motivational interviewing techniques to improve compliance. Our treatment modalities are evidence-based recommendations on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress-coping mechanisms, supplements, sex therapy and more. However, we also recommend medication and surgery when needed.

Our growing team includes 4 physicians, 1 nurse practitioner, 3 physician assistants, and 2 pelvic floor physical therapists.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment.
  • All medically related functions performed by a Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner are to be performed under the supervision of properly licensed physician. Orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, ultrasounds and laboratory tests, and interprets test results.
  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assess medical conditions and refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.

Job Requirements Required Qualifications:

  • Texas Medical License
  • Certified ACLS or able to obtain prior to start
  • Working Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practice
  • Ability to learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials
  • Ability to Prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage (this includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods)
  • Ability to travel to other centers with a set work schedule

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, retail care, primary care and/or ambulatory care setting. Willing to train motivated individuals.

Salary: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year, based on whether the candidate has urology experience.
