Managing Consultant | Revenue Integrity – BKD – Chicago, IL

As a Revenue Integrity Managing Consultant within our National Healthcare Advisory Practice, you will be working with the firm’s health care executive leadership team in building the firm’s performance improvement capabilities related to revenue integrity and middle revenue cycle initiatives. In addition, you will be working with a highly collaborative team that is solely dedicated to the health care industry. This position can sit in Kansas City, MO, Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Nashville, TN, or Cincinnati, OH.


What You Will Do:

  • Manage large performance improvement projects, including qualitative and quantitative tasks, with a focus on revenue integrity initiatives to include, but not limited to, charge description master (CDM), charge capture, and charge reconciliation functions. Quantify financial impact and findings from assessments and assist the team to move projects to implementation
  • Coach and mentor our staff/senior consultants
  • Execute quality client service and identify additional value-added services
  • Provide the best in class experience for our clients
  • Demonstrate thought leadership through speaking forums, whitepapers, webinars, etc.,
  • Be an active participant in specific healthcare industry groups (e.g. ACHE, MGMA, HFMA, Beckers, etc.)
  • Assist with new business development, growing our client relationships, qualifying leads, and scoping opportunities
  • Advise, communicate and present to all levels including C-suite, management, steering committees, the board of directors, etc.


A Successful Trusted Advisor Has:

  • Ability to travel up to 70% depending on client commitments
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or a related field
  • 5 years of revenue integrity/middle revenue cycle experience
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) preferred
  • Past employment with large/medium-sized Consulting firm(s) and/or hospital environment strongly preferred
  • Performance improvement experience as it relates to hospital and clinic revenue integrity functions, including the capture and flow of charges from clinical departments through the patient bill/claim
  • Understanding technologies and data analytics that are utilized in the middle revenue cycle environment to improve revenue and charge capture
