Purpose:
To ensure the highest quality, safe, effective, cost-conscious, just, and patient centered care in our service. Physicians who diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the post-acute adult population. May refer patients to specialists when needed for further diagnosis or treatment.
Responsibilities/Expectations:
Examine patients and evaluate symptoms to determine their condition and treatment.
Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient’s medical history.
Prescribe & interpret lab tests to obtain more information for underlying infections or abnormalities.
Prescribe medications &/or treatments with understandable instructions.
Examine, prescribe treatment, and refer patients to specialist PRN.
Work with nurse practitioners, physicians, nurses, and the patient’s Interdisciplinary Team.
Maintain patient record/chart of medical history, code, etc.
Document notes (H&P, PN, DC) within 24 hours after patient visit/date of service.
Stay current with developments and best practices through continuing education.
Rotating pager coverage (morning or night).
Skilled Nursing Facility meetings (x2 per week, 30-60 minutes).
Five skilled nursing facilities, work in two skilled nursing facilities per day (10-20 minutes’ drive in between facilities).
12 patients per day minimum.
Work one weekend per month, weekend can be included in 5-day week (e.g., Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun or Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, etc.).
1099 position.
70-75% collections.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited educational institution.
Residency Training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for the purpose of writing prescriptions.
Active California medical license.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $8,000.00 – $18,000.00 per month

Physicians wear surgical or N/KN-95 masks and appropriate PPE while treating patients. Physicians are up to date with vaccinations and booster(s). Comply with Covid testing as needed.
